This copy is in new, unmarked condition bound in black paper covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and the upper board. This copy is bright, tight, white and square. The unclipped dust wrapper is in new condition. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Antoni Gaudi i Cornet (25 June 1852 - 10 June 1926) was a Catalan architect from Spain known as the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism. Gaudi's works have a highly individualized, sui generis style. Most are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the church of the Sagrada Familia. Gaudi's work was influenced by his passions in life: architecture, nature, and religion. He considered every detail of his creations and integrated into his architecture such crafts as ceramics, stained glass, wrought ironwork forging and carpentry. He also introduced new techniques in the treatment of materials, such as trencadis which used waste ceramic pieces. This important illustrated retrospective of the architect's work has an informed and authoritative thirty six page introduction by the architect and philosopher Ignasi de Sola-Morales (1942 - 2001) and is illustrated with one hundred and forty illustrations, one hundred and three of these specially commissioned in full colour.
