2023年12月28日 · Don't recall Yellowfin ever building a 14-footer, especially in this configuration. My bet is it's a Johnson/Mitchell clone and someone stuck a Yellowfin decal on the stern. Anyway, looks like it has potential as a renovation project.

2014年5月17日 · This Boat is one of the best made flats boats. The build quality is that off Hells Bay, East Cape, Yellowfin.....etc. You will not find a better built flats boat for the money. Gause Boats now own the molds. 0 Hull Slap. The rolled bow provides a very quiet track in the water. If you are serioius about fishing you know what this means.
Why did pathfinder stop making there tunnel hull boats?
2017年1月27日 · The boats definitely have a flawed design as many had stringer issues mine was an 05 tailfisher and my stringers came loose within the first year I had the boat which was brand new. Nothing like paying top dollar for a skiff that starts falling apart after the first year.
East Cape building a drift boat/stream skiff?
2023年1月22日 · Low profile flats boats; Drift boats; I can watch a thousand bass rigs go by and yawn, and bay boats just aren't sexy, but if any of those three are visible from the road while I'm driving, I become a road hazard rubber necker. Looking forward to seeing the pics!

Full disclosure - my 84yo dad still has his 2004 1900 and my bay/family boat is a 2018 2200. Both great family boats and good to great fishing boats depending on your fishing style.

2009年9月7日 · Backcountry powerboats was the original brainchild of Wiley Nagel, now of Yellowfin fame, the 202 hull I'm pretty sure originally was "modeled" after the original Lake and Bay 20, just a different deck cap. The boats are awesome, I have two buddies with BC's and they are both great (202 and phantom).

2014年9月20日 · Forget poling the 20 footers and bay boats. However, there are a few boats that seem to straddle the categories. The BTV seems to straddle between the technical skiff and flats boat ( and I think the boca grande 20 and the moccasin 210 straddle between the flats boats and bay boats - with some hope of very minimal poling to be done) .

The way I’ve done it (off the NC coast and in the Keys) involves bringing the tuna to the boat with chum or fishing behind shrimp boats and in each case you’re either mimicking the chum / by-catch in the water or trying to stand out in the crowd. My favorite tuna fly is a big popper tied on a tube.
