2020年1月1日 · Yes, FreeCAD is a great collection of tools, but as a standalone software it's unusable. And I've used all similar CAD programs. And also yes, GIMP is a good example of crap. Living in denial has never lead to any good outcome.

2020年7月13日 · So it's definitely not feasible, it would drain all of FreeCAD resources for nothing. Besides, some companies put patents on their formats which could expose FreeCAD to legal threat. In the case of OCC's parasolid importer, the OCC core engine, that we use in FreeCAD, is open-source, but they also sell several "add-ons", such as this one.

Now the point is "how to take forward" this way of proceed and maybe trying to raise some money for FreeCAD development that permit to hire some "part time" or "full time" programmers.
