Which Free CAD would you recommend for 3D printing?
2013年4月2日 · True CAD software either use CSG (outdated) or boundary representation (B-Rep). All modern CAD software use B-Rep, and so does FreeCAD. OpenSCAD is popular in the 3D printing community, but it's a tool for programming-minded people - which I'm not. It can only export to .CSG (an open but non-standard file format) and .STL.

2020年11月22日 · Up to now I just download your file, using FreeCAD exported it to STL and with Ultimaker CURA sliced it to get the gcode file that 3D printer is now printing. I still need to analyze in detail your FreeCAD drawing. I did see that you also used different sketches. One for the outer ring, one the rectangles and one for the bend leg.

2024年10月31日 · I suspect the ONLY reason FreeCAD is gaining in popularity is because the options for free 3D CAD app's are dwindling. The Ondsel dev's took a fairly fresh look at the UI and brought some sanity to the table. Hopefully the FreeCAD dev's will do the same.

2020年1月1日 · Yes, FreeCAD is a great collection of tools, but as a standalone software it's unusable. And I've used all similar CAD programs. And also yes, GIMP is a good example of crap. Living in denial has never lead to any good outcome.
