The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf was set to be reopened this weekend nearly two weeks after a portion of the popular tourist attraction collapsed into the ocean amid a pounding surf.
The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf is scheduled to reopen Saturday morning, much sooner than anticipated and Friday employees were busy preparing for the big day.
“Wharf contractor Power Engineering Construction worked with Pioneer for an ocean sonar scan to locate their heavy equipment that fell into the ocean,” said City Manager Matt Huffaker.
