With the looming threat of bird flu farmers at Las Vegas Livestock, an animal farm in the valley, are taking heed, checking on the chickens every morning to make sure they’re healthy.
After the first reported human death from bird flu was reported earlier this week, many residents said they are growing concerned the virus will continue mutating.
The U.S. has developed a bird flu vaccine that can be prepared when needed. It’s not currently available because health officials haven’t deemed it necessary.
