An American influencer has left Australia after the government announced it was reviewing her visa over a video she posted of her snatching a baby wombat from its mother.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told US influencer Sam Jones to try picking up a crocodile instead of a baby wombat in wake of the controversy.

A video of the online influencer snatching the joey from the side of its mother drew calls for her to be deported. She left the country Friday.
